Former Senate Majority Leader, Jonathan Zwingina, has reportedly passed away at the age of 70.
Zwingina, who also served as the Director-General of the MKO Abiola Campaign Organisation during the historic June 12, 1993 presidential election, was a prominent figure in Nigerian politics.
Reports claim that the Adamawa State-born politician died on Wednesday, October 2, at the age of 70 in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Zwingina is said to have passed away following a long battle with illness.
He represented Adamawa South Senatorial District in the Senate and was a key founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before later switching to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
